Job Description Job Title: Air and Missile Defense (AMD) Software Architect The AMD Software Architect will be a member of the Army Program Executive Office Missiles and Space (PEO MS) Integrated Fires Mission Command (IFMC) Mission Command Product Office's Integrated Battle Command System (IBCS) Futures Capabilities (IFC) product cell. The architect is responsible for evaluating and developing software approaches for integrating new and existing defense systems, working on innovative concepts and Systems of Systems Integration. Position Details Type: Full-Time Basic Qualifications Experience leading software teams in large software development environments. Strong understanding of air and missile defense concepts. Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools. U.S. citizenship. Bachelor's degree (or higher) in engineering, sciences, or mathematics from an accredited college (ABET accredited). Experience with real-time systems and diverse software development. Experience with prototyping and integrating new software interfaces. Ability to lead problem identification and resolution in system design and integration. Ability to investigate and present technology solutions to enhance performance. Experience assessing customer and user needs following agile principles. Ability to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement in existing solutions. Strong skills in breaking down complex ideas into manageable tasks. Experience coordinating needs with Product and Solution Management. Minimum of 7 years of combined Government/DoD experience performing these duties. Additional Qualifications Knowledge of IBCS, PATRIOT, MEADS, THAAD, C2BMC, or AEGIS is a plus. Experience with JIRA/Confluence, DevSecOps, SAFe agile methodologies, and CI/CD pipelines is advantageous. Experience with Model-Based System Engineering is a plus. Prior leadership in Software Architecture/Engineering is desired. Decision-making ability, enthusiasm, independent critical thinking, and teamwork are highly valued.
